ABOUT US

Clear Mountain is a picturesque rural locality in the City of Moreton Bay, Queensland, Australia, with a close-knit community of 807 residents (2021 census). Nestled on upland terrain, the area is defined by its natural beauty—its southern boundary is marked by Cedar Creek (a tributary of the South Pine River), and numerous streams drain the land toward Lake Samsonvale. One of its highlights is Clear Mountain Lookout, which offers stunning views over rural and forested landscapes.

The region features a mix of acreage homes and rural/residential subdivisions, providing a serene lifestyle set against the backdrop of State Forest and the Samford Valley. Historically, the fertile alluvial flats supported diverse agricultural pursuits such as vegetable growing, banana and pineapple cultivation, dairying, and piggeries.

While Clear Mountain no longer has its own school—with the nearest primary and secondary schools found in nearby Mount Samson, Eatons Hill, Bray Park, and Albany Creek—it remains well connected and active. The natural surroundings make it a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities for mountain biking, orienteering, walking, horse riding, and road cycling. Local sports facilities in adjacent suburbs support activities ranging from rugby and soccer to tennis and netball.

With a sub-tropical climate characterized by hot, sometimes humid summers and mild, sunny winters, Clear Mountain presents an ideal blend of rural charm and outdoor adventure—a true hidden gem in the Moreton Bay region.
